Patience is a virtue

Patience is a virtue

Like with budo, patience brings it’s own rewards, like finally getting the new website up and running and taking the time over the technology to finally understand what is going on behind the scenes.

Understanding the basics with everything is the key to a great foundation of your learning, not just in martial arts, but in everything, if we rush to be perfect from the beginning we risk not understanding the main principles behind it, as Samuel Beckett is often quoted Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better“.

This is the same as “Nana korobi ya oki” 七転び八起き, literally “fall down seven times, get up eight”, embrace that you do not know and am willing to learn, rather then covering it up, it is that willingness for knowledge that will have you continuing on the path in the years ahead, no matter what befalls you, and no matter how far down that path you have traveled.
